It’s Black Friday in America, and NoFightin.com provides the deep blues specials.
Today, it’s rare live video of 13 featuring Lester Butler performing “Devil Woman,” likely at the Tivoli in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on Sept. 9, 1997.
You will notice that the quality of audio and video varies. The elements of this video were provided by Eddie Clark, and we have done our best to preserve and present the best audio and video combination here. You’ll hear a couple of drop-outs, as well as some awkward edits in the audio that were in the original files.
All that is worth it just to get to the incinerating solo by Alex Schultz, backed by the propulsive rhythm section of Clark on drums and Mike Hightower on bass.
It’s also great to see a stage-level view Lester Butler, happy and dancing.
