F’ around and find out, starring The Red Devils

It seemed so promising at first.

Two items in the San Francisco Examiner bookend an eventful July 23, 1993, Red Devils gig at Trocadero Transfer in San Francisco.

Attendees were promised to “rock straight to hell with” The Red Devils, something called Pearl Harbour and Steve Verkey/Johnnie’s Problem, according to a July 18 ad in the Examiner.

It would soon be the Trocadero’s problem after the Devils got stiffed on the gig, according to pop music critic Joel Selvin in his Aug. 1 column.

Of course, The Red Devils were not above getting physical, whether it was to protect Paul Size from getting robbed or just to show some hotel furniture who’s boss.
