Howlin’ Wolf’s 113th birthday playlist

On June 10, 1910, Chester Arthur Burnett entered the world.

Today, on what would have been The Howlin’ Wolf’s 113th birthday, we pay tribute to the master with a playlist of songs that inspired or influenced The Red Devils and Lester Butler.

Some songs you will recognize as having been covered directly; and others you will hear as the spiritual ancestors to “King King” and “13 featuring Lester Butler.”

We lost the Wolf much too soon, at age 65. But his ferocious artistry remains in these 10 tracks and beyond!
